Dosage

Strattera has a half-life is about 5.2 hours. There seems to be no difference in effectiveness whether it is given once or twice per day.

For child-adolescent  the dosage is based on weight.  Typical starting dosage is .5 mg/kg/day.*  About 1.2 mg/kg/day seems to be the most effective dose. Adolescents should not exceed 80 mg for the first month , then they may go up to 100 mg per day. Adults need 80 mg to 100 mg per day if they weigh more than 175 pounds.

*To convert pounds to kilograms, divide the weight in pounds by 2.2.
Thus to convert 110 pounds to kilograms:   110/2.2=50kg

The beginning dosage for a 110 pound child would be 50kg x .5 mg=25 mg/day. The maximum effective dosage would be 50kg x 1.2 mg=60 mg/day

Supplied

 The capsule and can be taken once or twice a day and come  in 5, 10, 18, 25, 40, and 60-mg sizes.
